ACNEI-IBL Neural Modelling Workshop
Thank you for your interest in the workshop. This four-day intensive programme introduces participants to computational approaches for understanding behaviour and neural activity using data from the International Brain Laboratory (IBL) - spanning behavioural modelling, single-neuron analysis, neural encoding and decoding, population analysis, dimensionality reduction, and collaborative research projects.
The workshop combines lectures, practical sessions, exploratory data analysis, and team-based project work. Participants are expected to actively take part throughout the programme, from 09:30 to 17:30 UTC each day.
Applicant Requirements
This course is designed for participants who:
- Have a basic understanding of neuroscience or a related field.
- Have intermediate-level experience with Python, demonstrated through previous training, coursework, or projects.
- Have access to a computer and reliable internet connection for participating in sessions and completing activities.
- Are interested in applying computational approaches to neuroscience and are willing to actively participate throughout the course.
- Be African or currently reside in an African country.
- Applicants from underrepresented backgrounds and communities in computational neuroscience are strongly encouraged to apply.

This is a highly competitive process. Applications are reviewed on the overall strength of each applicant's background, experience, motivation, interests, and availability.
